IT’S down the nitty gritty of the last 16 and after a good Friday Jordan is targeting Saturday’s Croatia v Portugal match.
He says: “I’m sure people share the same thoughts here. Portugal qualifying with three draws was unexpected and for me they were lucky they finished in the best four of the third-placed teams.
“Croatia have also surprised me but in a good way. Despite their collapse against the Czechs that I will blame on their own fans they have looked dangerous going forward.
“The Portuguese game v Hungary was probably the best of the tournament but it was bound to be open as they needed to push for victory. The same goes for the knockout stages.
“No point in sitting back for 90-120 minutes and hope you get through on penalties and I don’t think that’ll be on the Croatians mind. If Iceland and Hungary can score against the Portuguese before this time I’m almost certain the Croats can. I’m unsure of the status of Luka Modric but to be fair they didn’t need him against Spain and they may not need him against the ageing Portuguese defence.
“Consider Croatia to score in the first half which is best available at 6-4 with Stan James but for the added 20 minutes into the second half I will happily take the 5-6 on the goal time.”
