JORDAN’S having a small interest in China today where Beijing Guoan head to league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande.
He says: “Beijing have been one of the best sides in the league for a few years but had a bad start to this campaign but don’t let league positions fool you.
“Guoan only won one of their first seven games but are the second best team in the league over the last 15 games and have the second best defensive record this season. Both accolades are in second place behind Guangzhou though.
“They have already played three times this year, twice in the cup and once in the league. Guoan lost 3-0 at home but had just as many chances as Guangzhou and scored in both ties in the cup.
“They’ll have a fairly decent player missing in Brazil’s Renato Augusto who is with the Olympic team but still have capable goal threats with Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz and Chinese internationals Xizhe Zhang and Yu Dabao who have been involved in 14 of their 17 goals this season. Guaon have a game on Friday at home but if they keep up their current form a point here could mean a lot at the end of the season. Bookies think this will be a low scorer but as value goes in betting, this is a decent punt.”
Chinese Super League – (12.35pm)
Beijing Guoan to score (over 0.5 team goals)
(19-20, Winner) – 2 points
I think both will score here but that defeats the object of finding the value as I need Guangzhou to score (I think they will) but if Guoan nick one early happy days. Both to score pays 6-5 at Boylesports and over 2.5 match goals is evens at Winner.
